HKDNR LAUNCHES THE 'IDV.HK' DOMAIN NAME PROMOTIONAL PROGRAM

Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of HKSAR
Getting Your Unique HK Online Identity at $1 per month

Hong Kong, June 28, 2007 - To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR, Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC) and its wholly owned subsidiary Hong Kong Domain Name Registration Company Limited (HKDNR) jointly announce today the launch of the “idv.hk” domain name registration program. With a monthly fee of HK$1 only, Hong Kong citizens can register a personalized and unique Chinese or English domain name ending with ".idv.hk" and establish his own interactive online social networking platform.

Accordingly to the released findings of the surveys on the usage and penetration of information technology (IT) in Hong Kong conducted during May by the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD), there are currently over 1,500,000 domestic households with their PC connected to the Internet, representing 67.1% of all domestic households in Hong Kong. This shows how common Internet connections are in Hong Kong. With the burgeoning number of homepages and blogs, Internet has formed an integral part of the public livelihood.
