HONG KONG, 29 January 2007 - Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC) and its wholly owned subsidiary Hong Kong Domain Name Registration Company Limited (HKDNR) jointly announce today the commencement of .hk Chinese Domain Name Sunrise Period from 29 January to 9 February 2007. During this Period, registration right is open to public.

'.hk' Chinese Domain Name includes the simple ‘.hk’ category for general use, and ‘.公司.hk’, ‘.教育.hk’ , ‘.政府.hk’, ‘.個人.hk’ , ‘.網絡.hk’ , ‘.組織.hk’ for different groups of users. During the Sunrise Period, all applications will be processed in one lot after the registration period. If there are more than one applications of the same domain name, allocation will be conducted by random draw.
