HKIRC Appoints Leo Kwong Shing Lam, as Chief Executive Officer
HONG KONG, 10 November 2016 – Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Leo Kwong Shing Lam as Chief Executive Officer today. Mr. Lam is expected to take up the position in early 2017 to lead HKIRC in serving the Internet community of Hong Kong and around the globe in relation to the administration of domain names, with a view to promoting Hong Kong as an international centre for e-commerce and encouraging a better understanding and use of the Internet and related technology.
With over two decades of experience in IT related fields, Mr. Lam spearheaded market strategy and technical shifts across a wide portfolio of products and services in a highly dynamic business environment.
HKIRC would like to take this opportunity to express its warmest welcome to Mr. Lam and believes under his leadership HKIRC as well as Hong Kong’s Internet development will reach new heights.
Mr. Lam was selected through an open and fair recruitment process that commenced in late February 2016. A dedicated selection panel, chaired by the Chairman of HKIRC with two Board directors and two co-opted members serving as members, considered a number of candidates before making its decision.
