HKIRC was invited to be the keynote speaker at a seminar hosted by ISACA on 21 March. From the perspective of being the organisation that manages Hong Kong’s ccTLDs, an analysis of today’s Internet user habits and recent cyberattacks on websites was presented. Referring to the international domain name data, HKIRC also analyzed the pros and cons of each domain name and its security profile, and introduced the advantages of “.hk” and “.香港” domain names, as well as the technical principles behind the secure and robust services. Through this seminar, it is hoped to raise the industry’s awareness of the security of the domain name system, and utilize the free services provided by HKIRC to enhance the defensive capabilities of enterprises and take the first step to prevent cyber-attacks proactively.
