HKIRC hosted “Digital Accessibility Experience Booth” to bring about the concept of digital inclusion
HKIRC hosted “Digital Accessibility Experience Booth” with The Link Sustainable Lab in Lok Fu Place on 29 March. Dialogue in the Dark were invited to provide a series of digital accessibility experience game booths, so that the public could put themselves into the shoes of the visually impaired or hearing impaired and experience the difficulties and inconveniences that may be encountered when browsing web pages that lack “barrier-free design”, thus enabling more people to understand the importance of digital inclusion. This will help more people to understand the importance of digital inclusion.
At present, most people in the community do not have a deep understanding of digital inclusion. However, as Hong Kong develops into a smart city and our daily life becomes more dependent on technology, the importance of digital inclusive design for people with special needs becomes even more important. HKIRC hopes that in the future, there will be more opportunities to disseminate the relevant information to the public, and that the whole community can work together to promote the popularization of barrier-free design, so that the vision of digital inclusion can be realized.
