- For organizational type domains: A copy of a local or overseas business registration certificate issued by the relevant local authority.

The Registrant must provide documentary proof that it falls within one of the following categories when applying to register a .org.hk, .組織.hk or .組織.香港 Domain Name:
- organisations or trusts registered under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (charitable institutions or trusts of a public character),
- registered not-for-profit trade unions or other unions,
- not-for-profit owners’ corporations,
- not-for-profit hospitals and nursing homes,
- childcare centres of a non-profit nature,
- not-for-profit trade or industry associations or chambers,
- statutory bodies established by ordinance or gazette notice,
- government departments of the HKSAR, and
- any other reputable not-for-profit organisation accepted by HKIRC provided that it can demonstrate substantive non-profit operations.
To strengthen public trust and minimize the risk of misuse or misleading applications, HKIRC will introduce an updated. ORG.HK domain registration policy. Effective from 5 Oct 2026, only non-profit organizations that meet the revised eligibility criteria will be eligible to apply for .ORG.HK domains. Private companies or organizations which declare no dividend per share under their constitutional documents will no longer be eligible to apply for a .ORG.HK domain, unless they otherwise meet the revised eligibility criteria.

- A copy of the Tax Exemption Letter issued by Inland Revenue Department (IRD) that shows the organisation is a charity or not-for-profit organisation (under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance).
- A copy of the Certificate of Registration for Trade Unions or other Unions.
- A copy of Certificate of Registration of Owners’ Corporation under Building Management Ordinance.
- A copy of Registration of a Hospital / Nursing Home (under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance).
- A copy of the Certificate of Registration of a Child Care Centre and a Letter issued by the applicant declaring the centre is of not-for-profit nature.
- A copy of ordinance/gazette mentioned the establishment of the organisation and a duly signed Application Letter (with organizational chop) issued by the organisation.
- A copy of Business Registration Certificate or a copy of Certificate of Incorporation together with a copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association (or the Articles of Association under the New Company Ordinance with effect from 3 Mar 2014) showing that the company is Limited By Guarantee.
- A duly signed Application Letter (with Government’s department’s chop) issued by a Government Department of the HKSAR.
- Other valid document proving the not-for-profit nature of the organisation and accepted by HKIRC.

- Registered Schools
- Certificate of a School: A copy issued by the Education Bureau of the HKSAR, and
- Application Letter: A written application letter issued by the school, duly signed by the principal with the school chop, and
- Principal’s Identity Document: A copy of the principal’s identity certificate;
- Educational Institution Established by Law
- A copy of the Ordinance: Showing that your institute is established by law, and
- Application Letter: issued by your institute
- Registered Course
- A copy of the Certificate of Registration of a course: issued by Education Bureau of HKSARG
- Nursery or Pre-primary Education Provider
- A copy of the Certificate of Education: for Nurseries Running Educare Services or Pre-Primary Curriculum for Children between 2 to 6 years old
- Other Proof: Any other valid document accepted by HKIRC that demonstrates the organisation is an approved educational institution in Hong Kong.

Entities managing network infrastructure, machines and services with a licence from the Office of the Communications Authority of the HKSARG

- Business Registration Certificate (BR): A copy of the Business Registration Certificate, and
- SBO Licence (Class 3): A copy of the Services-Based Operator (“SBO”) Licence of type “Class 3” issued by the Office of the Communications Authority of the Government of the HKSAR, indicating that the licensee is managing network infrastructure, machines, and services.
By 2011, PNETS (IVANS/ISP), FTNS, and Fixed Carrier licences had legally expired and been fully transitioned to SBO licences (Class 3).
