At the “Macao Internet Governance Forum 2024”, HKIRC shared the importance of domain names and cyber security to businesses, especially the huge potential of Chinese domain names in the Chinese-speaking market. HKIRC, CSTCB and GovCERT , organised the “Cyber Attack and Defence Elite Training cum Tournament “. Through free training and competition, the industry and academia can gain simulated practical experience and strengthen their ability to deal with cyber threats.

Cybersec Training Hub
Cybersec Training Hub is a free self-learning platform planned and managed by HKIRC. It aims to lower the threshold for organisations to provide cyber security training to their employees, deepen employees’ understanding of cyber security, and build Hong Kong into a safer cyber smart city.

Cyber Youth Design Competition
The Cyber Youth Design Competition has concluded successfully earlier. We are glad to see that students were able to raise everyone’s safety awareness through the competition. The gold-winning designs from the primary and secondary groups will become the next HKIRC Cyber Security Ambassadors and will appear in the HKIRC cyber security comics.

Collaborative visit with Mill Milk to promote digital inclusion
HKIRC recently collaborated with Mill Milk to interview Uncle Seoi Gan (水根叔), who has been making handmade canes for the visually impaired for more than 30 years, to share his daily life. Uncle Seoi Gan, who is also a visually impaired person, broke out into the international arena with his Hong Kong brand in his early years. He personally made affordable blind sticks for the visually impaired around the world to help low-income visually impaired people travel more conveniently.

Calling on the society to pay attention to the digital ageing of the elderly
HKIRC recently conducted an in-depth study on the HoyTV program ” City Focus” to explore the situations and difficulties that the elderly currently face when using applications in their daily lives. It hopes to arouse social attention through more public education, thereby promoting the optimisation of websites and applications, so that the general public can share the benefits brought by technology and achieve digital inclusion.

Website and Application Technical Support Workshop
In order to encourage more companies to participate in the recognition scheme, HKIRC has organised a number of technical workshops, where experts provide specific design teaching to technical personnel of participating units to improve their ability to design and apply technology to develop application content. They can also take this opportunity to understand the award criteria of the Digital Accessibility Recognition Scheme 2024-2025.
